JoAnn Berkowitz
Founder, Instructor
I have been blessed and continued to be blessed with wonderful and challenging career experiences! Special education teacher, middle school reading teacher, director of Special education, elementary principal, middle school principal, director of professional development and school change, director of human resources and assistant superintendent–urban, suburban and rural schools in Illinois and Ohio. I continue to support the great work of educators through online teaching with hundreds of teachers across our country. Additionally, I provide coaching services to school leaders, recently completing a $1.2 M, three -year grant to coach the principals of the 80 lowest functioning schools in Ohio–this work has been very rewarding (and humbling) as all of the schools deal with unbelievable poverty–in urban centers and in Appalachian hill communities.
So to my classes I bring experience and also daily learnings from being in the trenches where we strive for student success with those most at risk. I’m excited to be with you on our learning journey!
Over the past 6 years over 700 teachers have taken my online courses–prior to going online I have taught over 2500 teachers at the graduate level!
Our Partners
We are proud to partner with the Ronald McDonald House that serves the families that have children seeking health care from the Cleveland Clinic.
With each educator completing a course, a donation will be made to this great group—as we support educators doing great work in their classrooms/schools so the Ronald McDonald House provides great support for children and their families!
